SIFF has been supporting various organizations that preserve and promote Indian music and culture. We support individual artists and events, workshops etc. to demystify Indian classical music and make it more accessible to music lovers in contemporary times.
In a series on learning from great Indian maestros, several students and teachers of music from across Bangalore gathered with the Shri Uday Bhawalkarji in Bangalore.
SIFF Music Fellowship 2019
SIFF honoured Shri Koushik Aithalji with a 2 year Fellowship in music. Shri Koushikji has dedicated his life to Hindustani music and created a distinct style of his own which marries musicality and emotion and makes its way straight into the hearts of music lovers- a true sign of a maestro in the making. SIFF is privileged to support him with this fellowship and be a small part of his journey.
By supporting artists through a Fellowship, we look to fulfilling our mission of preserving and promoting Indian music and culture. The SIFF Music Fellowship includes this citation and an honorarium over two years.
